Senator Mike Fasano Visits Conservative Club Of East Pasco
The Conservative Club of East Pasco held their monthly meeting on Monday, May 16, 2011 at John’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant on Hwy 54 in Zephyrhills. Vice President Gordon Hyde conducted the meeting in the absence of President Richard Albrecht. D.C. Baldwin was recognized as a new Board member. Special guest was Senator Mike Fasano who gave an update of what is going on in government in the State of Florida. He also conducted a lively question and answer session. A club picnic is planned for the pavilion at Krusen Field on Saturday, August 6, 2011. Check the website at www.conservativeclubeastpasco.org or get the info on Facebook. The next meeting of the club will be on Monday, June 20th at the Sundance Mobile Home Park clubhouse at 6340 Santa Fe Drive in Zephyrhills off SR 54 East. Lunch will be available starting at 11:30 a.m. for $5.00 or $6.00. and the meeting will begin at Noon.
Jerry Sterner Is Named 8th Lincoln Heritage Award Winner By The Conservative Club Of East Pasco
The Conservative Club of East Pasco has named Jerry Sterner as the 8th receipient of the Lincoln Heritage Award at a dinner held at Bentley Commons in Zephyrhills on Friday, March 4th. Jerry was the Director of Marketing & Public Relations, Volunteer Services and Physician Recruitment for 20 years at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, formerly East Pasco Medical Center. Dick Albrecht, President of the club welcomed all those in attendance with Mayor Cliff McDuffie recognizing dignitaries and special guests. The Zephyrhills JROTC presented the colors with Megan Mohler singing the National Anthem. Several presentations were made to Jerry including a Congressional Proclamation presented by newly elected Congressman Rich Nugent, a State of Florida Resolution from Will Weatherford’s office presented by Seth Weightman, who also read a letter from Gov Rick Scott and the 2011 Sheriff’s award presented by Pasco County Sheriff Bob White. I had the honor of presentating Jerry with the 2011 Lincoln Heritage Award medallion. Wanda Stevens presented Joe Worrell with the 2011 Club Service award. Jerry has worked with many local organizations including Sunrise of Pasco, Rotary Club of Zephyrhills, Chamber’s of Commerce in Zephyrhills, Dade City and Wesley Chapel, Habitat for Humanity, Pasco Economic Development Council, San Antonio Boys Village and the Conservative Club of East Pasco. These are just a fraction of the organizations that he worked with. I have known Jerry for over 20 years and I am a better person because of it. His kind, considerate and caring ways have been noticed not just by myself but by the many, many people he has come in contact with over his lifetime. Dr. Susan MacManus Visits The Conservative Club Of East Pasco
Political Analyst Dr. Susan MacManus was the keynote speaker at the monthly meeting of the East Pasco Conservative Club held at Scotland Yards on Monday, November 15, 2010. Susan is the Political Analyst for News Channel 8 and News Radio 970 WFLA in this area. She is nationally renowned for her expert and incisive commentary on public opinion and intergenerational politics and has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, PBS, BBC, NHK(Toyko), Australian Television, C-SPAN, National Public Radio and in various print media. Dr. MacManus gave those in attendance a breakdown of the last election locally, state wide and nationally. She did mix some humor with some hard election result facts. Susan is a distinguished University Professor of Public Administration and Political Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Radio Talk Show Host Jack Harris Visits Conservative Club Of East Pasco
The Conservative Club of East Pasco held its monthly meeting at Scotland Yards in Zephyrhills on Monday, October 18th. The large gathering was welcomed by President Joe Worrell. Guest speakers were former Supervisor of Elections Kurt Browning and 970 WFLA morning show host Jack Harris. The theme of both speakers was that this will probably be one of the most important elections of our lifetime. It is very important to read and understand the amendments. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors and not reading them carefully could cause voters to actually vote for something that they may really be against. In addition, Harris mentioned that the illegal count is now about 20 million and he would be against anyone supporting amnesty without these people going through the proper procedures to become US Citizens. Jordan Baker, 14 Year Old Founder of Conservative Christian Teens For America Kicks Off & Energizes the Conservative Club Of East Pasco
The monthly meeting of the Conservative Club of East Pasco was called to order at Scotland Yards at noon today, Monday, August 16, 2010. The club welcomed keynote speaker Jordan Baker, 14 year old Founder and President of the Conservative Christian Teens for America. Jordan fired up the crowd to take a stand and let everyone know the importance of today’s youth relative to the political realm. This group has made a significant impact on Washington already. A presentation and debate with Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite convinced the Congresswoman to review and later co-sponsor the bill on parental rights. How awesome for a group of teenagers to have Congress reconsider the proposed ammendment. As President Ronald Regan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” I applaud the efforts of these teens and encourage each of you to take a stand. Conservative Club East Pasco Now On Facebook
The Conservative Club East Pasco is now on Facebook. The site went live on Thursday, July 15th after the ribbon cutting at their campaign headquarters on 5th Avenue in Zephyrhills. The ribbon cutting was under the auspices of the Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce and it was a packed house. A special thank you to all who participated and for all of the volunteers to make this a wonderful event. You must have a Facebook account to access this new site. It is very easy and free to sign up.
