Youth Group From St. Joseph Catholic Church Heading To “Rock The Universe”
Members of the youth group from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills held a car wash on Saturday, August 20th in front of First RV & Refrigeration on Hwy 301 to help raise money to attend what is billed as Florida’s biggest Christian music festival, “Rock The Universe”. This is an annual event held at Universal Studios in Orlando. This years event is scheduled Friday, Sept 9 and Saturday, Sept 10 and will feature such bands as Switchfoot, Casting Crowns, David Crowder Band and Third Day to mention a few. The youth group J.O.E. (Jesus over Everything) has scheduled a bake sale this weekend to help with their goal. What they do not earn they will have to pay out of pocket. Let’s get together and support this awesome youth group and help send them on their way. It will be a life changing experience.
Awaken Conference/Concert Coming To Oasis World Outreach In Zephyrhills
Oasis World Outreach located at 35636 State Road 54 West in Zephyrhills is bringing the Awaken Conference/Concert featuring Eddie James Ministries to Zephyrhills on Saturday, July 23rd beginning with prayer at 6pm followed by the concert at 7pm. Eddie James, born in Phoenix, AZ, accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 8. He entered into music ministry at the tender age of 9 and it is for this reason that Eddie recognizes the gifts of God inside of young people. God has placed a burden inside of Eddie James, to minister to those who are hurting and lost, with an extraordinary emphasis on youth and young adults. As a result of his efforts, God has established Eddie James as a leader of music and ministry in the nation and around the world.
Guests joining the concert include Excaliber, Ultimate Call and TAB. To find out more about Eddie James Ministries go to http://www.ejworship.org

Final Moment Band Ignites National Night Out
National Night Out took place in Downtown Zephyrhills on Thursday, August 4, 2009 and a variety of activites took place under the auspices of the Zephyrhills Police Department and Main Street Zephyrhills. This nationwide event once again united this area and introduced them to services available and helped to increase crime safety awareness to the community and area youth. Local organizations set up on 5th Ave and talked with those in attendance about a variety of services. Food, fun and games was on the agenda for the night. Another highlight of the evening was local entertainment with Dr. Dr. Thayer of WZPH 96.7FM who acted as Master of Ceremonies. One of the highlights was the Christian band “Final Moment” which included Barney Barnard on Vocals and Lead Guitar, Ciara Brittany on Vocals, Chris First on Percussion and Phillip Fernandez on Bass. Richard Wingo was the sound man and technical advisor. This band did a nice mix of Christian Music and Rock n Roll. The highlight to me was the final song “Voodoo Child” that cleverly slid into an original, “Tomorrow Might Not Come“. The latter had a strong Christian message. If you don’t remember all the songs, you definately will remember the message. If you get a chance check out their website on myspace at: www.myspace.com/finalmomentband25
