The theme for this weekend at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI is the Barbarian Brew Festival. The dates are March 10th & March 11th. You can expect to enjoy the State Archery Competition. Also there is a World Market, Medieval Combat Training, Beard Competition and a Wyrdwood Viking Lodge.

This will be the final weekend of the wildly successful Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI. This year has exceeded all expectations. You can go back in time to the Village of Fittleworth on Friday, March 31st, Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd from 10 a.m. – to 6 p.m. rain or shine. This weeks theme is High Seas Adventures and features Perfect Pirate Competition, Tatoo Competition, Craft Beer Samplings, and a Pirate Costume Contest. Friday March 31st tickets are $13.95 and includes a free beverage. Great food like 100 layer cinnamon rolls, turkey legs, chicken & waffles, Scotch eggs, apple dumplings and plenty of beer , wine and smoothies. Over 100 merchants have just about anything you can think of. Entertainment is on every corner including live jousting, camel rides and audience participation in many events. I had to work on the evening of Independence Day 2009 and just got done reading a blog authored by my daughter, Kristen. She has now received her Master’s Degree in Communications at the University of Oregon. It made me think that I needed to do something about my town, Zephyrhills. After all, I have lived here for just about my whole life. I am going to talk about, “What’s happening in Zephyrhills”. It may be news, it may be sports, it may be about your neighbor, an upcoming event, or hey, it may even be about YOU. Keep an eye out. I’ll be watching!
