Drew Weatherford is Keynote Speaker At Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

It was a treat for me to attend the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at the Golden Corral in Zephyrhills on Friday, November 5th to kick off the weekend activities for the Harvest Festival. Mayor Cliff McDuffie welcomed those in attendance and he was followed by keynote speaker Drew Weatherford. Drew is the brother of newly re-elected State Representative Will Weatherford. He remarked that he loves his brother but is glad the campaigning is done for now. It will be nice to get back to normal tv without all of those candidate commercials. Drew was the quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles under the direction of legendary head coach Bobby Bowden. The message to the crowd was inspirational and he told about the importance that God plays each and every day. I am glad to see leaders come forward and tell what God has done in their life. Will, at his acceptance speech in Wesley Chapel also did not leave God out. I applaud these young role models and wish them the best as they move forward and continue to make an impact on those that they may meet.  The Harvest Festival was on Saturday in Downtown Zephyrhills and as usual, brought out great crowds to enjoy family friendly entertainment and activities. If you missed the breakfast, golf tournament and Festival put it on your calendar for next year. It is one of those events that you don’t want to miss.
