And Then There Were Two

Homecoming is over and you couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. The Bulldogs beat the Ridgewood Rams 49 – 0, a new king and queen were crowned and the freshmen class, yes the freshmen class won the best float in the Homecoming parade. In addition, the ZHS band with alumni members joining in had an awesome lights out show. The Bulldogs and the Pirates remain unbeaten in district competition with only a couple  more games left. It was a magical night at ZHS. This community is awesome!!!

Time To Cool Off As Pool Re-opens

Hundreds of kids and adults took the opportunity to cool off Memorial Day weekend as the Zephyrhills Police Athletic League (ZPAL) re-opened the Hercules Aquatic Center after months of being closed due to county budget cuts.

ZPAL president Mark LaMonte approached Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano and Pasco County Parks and Recreation director Rick Backman in January proposing to enter into a cooperative contract to re-open the popular recreation facility.

In the above photo, Zachary Wexler, 6, and his sister Kyra, 3, were the first to get into the re-opened pool.

Thanks to ZPAL for getting this done. It is great to have it back in the community. Stop in for a splashing good time!

usa football logo

The USA Football Player Academy is at the Zephyr Palms Events Centre located at 4645 Airport Road in Zephyrhills from July 27,2009 to July 30, 2009. This is one of only 12 locations in the United States where youth can attend.  USA Football Player Academies are developmental camps designed for athletes, ages 9 – 14, with a minimum of one-year of playing experience.  Similar to an NFL training camp, the 3 1/2 day curriculum will review the fundamental skills of offense, defense and special teams.  Krusen Field will also be used to execute what the youth have learned in the classroom. For more information call Mark LaMonte at 813-299-9072.
