Stop into Wrydwood Viking Lodge for Shield Fighting Demos and Viking Games before making your way to the All New Battle Axe Pub where you can toss axes while sampling delicious craft beers.

Show off your facial follicles during the Beard Competition for a chance to win prizes in four different categories: Longest, Grizzliest, Best Trimmed or Most Unique.

Tampa Archery School brings a chance for competitors to test their aim during the Archery Championships. All participating Archers receive Free Festival Tickets for Entry. 

If you’re not ready for an Archery competition yet, you can still take a shot at your friends at the Robinhood-style bow and arrow game, Bow Blast.

TAMPA, Fla., (Feb. 2020) – Anchors aweigh! The Bay Area Renaissance Festival invites you to bring your furry friends and Pirates Best to Pirates and Pups Fest weekend, February 29th – March 1st

Piper’s Valley, the Festival’s special event area, will feature Pet Vendors and Competitions including the Pet Costume Contest and Weiner Dog Races. Local Rescues will also be set up, giving patrons a chance to find a furry friend of their very own.

Back by popular demand this year is Ultimate Air Dogs. Watch as dogs of all sizes participate in a high-flying, Dock Diving Championship.

This weekend marks the first of two Pirate Themed Weekends. Dress to impress for a chance to win prizes during the Perfect Pirate Competition or test your skill in a game of Swab the Deck.

Highland Fling happening this weekend at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival!

TAMPA, Fla., (Feb. 2020) – Channel your inner Scot at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival on Highland Fling Weekend, February 21st and 22nd.

Keep your head low and be mindful of flying logs during the Annual Highland Games. Watch as the burliest Men in Florida toss everything but the kitchen sink as a test of true Highlander might. Events will include the Caber Toss, the Stone Throw, the Sheaf Toss and much more.

For lads with more beauty than beast, we implore you to put your charms to the test during the Men in Kilts competition. Scotsmen and simple folk alike can strut their stuff at the feet of the Queen herself in a bid to be deemed the best-kilted lad.

The Bay Area Renaissance Is Coming To Tampa at MOSI February 15th – April 4th

The Village of Fittleworth is a 16th Century European village located in Tampa at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) featuring 12 stages with live entertainment. Over 100 artisans fill the Festival marketplace to display and sell their handcrafted wares for a truly unique shopping experience. Patrons can interact with hundreds of memorable characters roaming the village streets as well as view live armored jousting throughout the day. The festival runs February 15th – March 29 on Saturday’s and Sundays. Festival Friday this year is March 27th. The Kegs and Eggs event will be on April 4th. This Is The Final Weekend. Now’s The Time.

This is the final weekend of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. Come on out this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday, March 29th is Festival Friday. Free admission for Military and 1st Responders. It’s also FREE Beer Friday. Come out and get the beer of your choice. Don’t forget the Masquerade Ball and Ladies Shopping Day.

This weekend is also Wonders of the World with the State Belly Dance Competition, Steampunk Invasion and Dr. Who Costume Contest. Stop in at the Game of Thrones Pub for a cool one.

The King Retires after nearly 40 years at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival!

Join the Festival Sunday, March 24th, to see Michael Marzella as he makes one final appearance as King Henry VIII. Michael has been an integral part of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival since it’s beginnings in 1979. Though he first started off as a part of the Strolling Minstrel in the Festival’s Inaugural Year, he then took on the role of King Henry VII and spent nearly 40 year years in that role.

TAMPA, Fla., (Mar. 2019) – Visit the festival for one final visit with King Henry VII as his reign comes to an end.

Michael has also spent a great deal of his time as a part of Streetmosphere, an improv group that performed at Disney’s MGM Studio Theatre for more than Ten Years. He truly enjoys making people laugh, especially the Families at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival.

Every year, patrons have enjoined being regaled by his Highness in the lanes of the Festival. He spent time doing Knighting Ceremonies and Audiences with guests of the Festival. This Sunday, Patrons will have the opportunity to meet and greet with the King during a reception from 3pm to 4:30 pm at the Festivals Royal Glade.

The King will also perform The King Sings on Sea Horse Stage at 11:30am, a Final Knighting Ceremony at 2pm and will make an appearance in the Royal High Tea.

Come Celebrate The Biggest St. Paddy’s Day Party This Weekend At The Bay Area Renaissance Festival.

Irish Culture is on full display on March 16th and 17th, marvel at the talented Irish dancers, test your stomach in the Mashed Potato Eating Contest, or show off your best kilt in the Men in Kilts Competition.

Be sure to check out the encore performance of the Irish Heavy Games. Watch as Athletes compete in feats of strength like the 22lb Stone Throw or the crowd favorite Caber Toss.

On March 16th the Festival will feature a St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza. Patrons in attendance will receive FREE Admission into an After Hours Party featuring the Bawdy Boys, Bocca Musica and Tartatrum, games, beer and more!

Barbarian Brew Fest March 9th & 10th at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival

All archers are invited to participate in the Florida State Archery Championship. This will be a weekend filled with competitive spirit and new experiences. Do you have a awesome beard or mustache to showcase, well enter into our contest to win some great prizes!

Food, food and more food along with artisan’s on every corner. Lot’s to do for the young ones and the young at heart. Be sure to check out the Game of Thrones Pub or real life Jousting. There is live entertainment going on all day and you never really know who you are going to meet walking around the Village of Fittleworth.

Time Travelers Invade The Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI

The weekends keep getting to be more fun at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI. This weekend, February 27th & 28th the theme is, “Time Travelers” and the Village of Fittleworth will once again welcome visitors of all ages to this awesome event.You can look forward to the Florida State Belly Dance Competition, Steampunk Invasion along with a costume contest, a Fantasy Market, Dr. Who Costume Contest and even a Wine & Cheese Tasting.Every weekend has a different theme but some of the things that are happening continue every weekend. There are 12 stages of entertainment, over 100 vendors selling just about anything you can think of and food glorious food. Beer and wine are also available.
